South Africa
My adventure started in Cape Town.
I landed around 1pm local time after an eighteen hour journey from London. I was picked up from the airport by my driver and taken to my first hostel which was named 'once in Cape Town'. From here I met my room mates for the night and soon to be friends for life, Richard and Elliot.

After meeting the rest of my group from Gadventures in the evening, we left the hostel in search for alcohol and food! We managed to find a little pizza restaurant just down the street from where we were staying. For as little at £6 we managed to order a large pizza and a pint of peroni.
The next day we woke bright and early, went down for breakfast and finished our packing ready to meet our group at 8:45am to begin our adventure. We loaded the truck, found our seats and we set off for the trip of a lifetime.

We drove to the local super market to pick up some supplies for the trip, which for me was a new hat as I left mine on the plane, new sunglasses as they broke in travel and some flip flops and shorts due to forgetting them. Not such a good start. From here we went to the beach to admire and take photos of Table Mountain before continuing to Cedersberg.
It was a long drive to the Highlanders Campsite located in Cedersberg which was our first stopover for the night. We managed to get some lunch on the road side under a hug tree.
When we finally reached Cedersberg we were blown away by the beauty of the campsite and the spectacular views of the cliffs. We quickly set up camp and headed to the pool and bar for a few drinks before settling down in front of the campfire.

The following day we woke bright and early and left the Highlanders campsite to head toward the Orange river which is on the South African and Namibian border. We spent around 6 hours on the road with a few stops to purchase food and supplies. We reached Fiddlers Creek Rest Camp around early afternoon; just in time for some of the group to take a canoe on the river and for the rest of us, a swim in the river.
After our swim in the Orange River, we headed back to camp for a Braai and some drinks before heading to the campsite bar which overlooked the river.
The following day we woke bright and early yet again, packed up and headed to the Namibian border to start our second leg of the journey...
